Overall Rank. In the 2022 Global Innovation Index (GII) report, the Philippines ranked 59th among 132 economies, an eight-notch decline from its 2021 rank (Figure 1). Nonetheless, the country remained among the top 40% of economies covered by the survey, which is still an improvement from being within the top 60% in 2018 with its erstwhile 73rd rank.
