The Philippines and other South East Asian (SEA) countries have already taken considerable strides towards achieving some of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). However, a closer look at the 2013 report on their progress in achieving the MDGs by 2015 revealed that some countries, including the Philippines, may find it hard to achieve or may not achieve at all, their targets in four goals, namely: eradicating extreme poverty (Goal 1); achieving universal primary education (Goal 2); reducing child mortality (Goal 4); and improving maternal health (Goal 5).>read complete document
