Based on data from the World Development Indicators 2014, mortality rates in the Southeast Asian Region has generally shown signs of improvement over the last 22 years (1990-2012), with Malaysia well ahead of the other countries. Thailand and Vietnam, in that order, have achieved the World Bank targets for various mortality indicators even before the 2015 deadline. Meanwhile, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar, also in that order, are expected to meet the targets by 2015.
