The tourism competitiveness ranking of the Philippines declined by five notches to 79th place out of 138 countries surveyed in the 2017 Travel & Tourism (T&T) Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum (WEF). This is after the Philippines climbed by 20 notches from 94th place in 2011 to 74th place out of 141 countries in 2015.

The report features the latest iteration of the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) on the T&T competitiveness of a country. The TTCI provides a comprehensive strategic tool for measuring the set of factors and policies that enables the sustainable development of the travel and tourism sector, which in turn, contributes to a country’s development and competitiveness. The WEF publishes the T&T report every two years.>>read complete document
