This publication, “Uplifting the Life of Every Filipino Through Enhanced Productivity and Social Equity”, aims to provide inputs to our legislators in formulating policies that may be deemed worthy of being part of their individual and collective legislative agenda for the Eighteenth Congress.
As the title suggests, the document makes use of the twin lens of productivity and equity to provide context and framework for tackling specific development challenges. Raising productivity and promoting equity are the common threads that provide the focus for the seven chapters. Each chapter has its own background, summary of issues and challenges, lists and descriptions of policies that have already been instituted, and most important, lists and descriptions of critical policies that have yet to be formulated.
Achieving a more inclusive growth remains a primary development goal, with recent economic growth in the Philippines being criticized as, among others, “jobless”. To correct this situation, higher productivity and wider social equity are presented here not only as solutions but also springboards to a further and sound policy regime. Understandably, human capital development and the creation of jobs and opportunities for a great number of our countrymen are emphasized.>>read complete document
